CARPET

CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTIES

CARPET LATEX is a water - based and self crosslinking, Vinyl - Acrylic Copolymer Emulsion, having 50 (%) solid content.

CARPET LATEX is generally used for the back coating applications of woven carpets. It is also recommended for textile finishing agent and for bonding Nonwovens - Needlefelt Type Carpets. During the application, the Self - Crosslinking is actualized in 3 - 4 minutes at a temperature 140?c. It gives clear, hard and durable film when completely dried.

APPLICATION

CARPET LATEX is successfully used as Carpet backcoating. It is diluted with water at desired concentration. Vinyl Acetate Homopolymer type textile finishing agent can be added in to a mixture. Then the mixture is transferred in to a finishing trough. Later the diluted emulsion is applied to the back of carpet with roller and passed through a drying tunnel at 130 - 140° c. During the drying, CARPET LATEX penetrates the back of carpet, produces film which it strengthens the binding of the knots.

STORING

CARPET LATEX is a water - based and Corrosive material, therefore, it should be kept in stainless steel, polyester containers or iron drums, plastic barrels with polyethylene innerlinings. It is sensitive to temperatures below + 5°c and above +35°c. It must be protected from freezing and direct sun light. It can be stored about six month under the recommended conditions.
