MARLEX

CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTIES

MARLEX is a water - based, Vinyl Acetate Homopolymer Emulsion, having 35 (%) solid content. It is generally used for the back coating applications of woven carpets. It is also recommended for textile finishing agent. During the application, drying is actualized in 4 - 5 minutes approximately at a temperature 140°c. It gives clear, bright and hard film when completely dried.

APPLICATION

MARLEX is successfuly used as Carpet back coating and Textile finishing agent. It is diluted by means of water in mixing tank. Then the mixture is transferred in to a finishing trough. Later, the diluted emulsion is applied to the back of carpet with roller. When the application is finished, the carpet is passed through a drying tunnel at 140°c and dried. During the drying, MARLEX penetrates the back of carpet, produces film which it strengthens the binding of knots.

STORING

MARLEX is a water - based and corrosive material, therefore, it should be kept in stainless steel, polyester containers or iron drums, plastic barrels with polyethylene innerlinings. It is sensitive to temperatures below + 5°c and above +35°c. It must be protected from freezing and direct sun light. It can be stored about six month under the recommended conditions.
